KTSG Inaugurates Committee for Northwest PEBEC Conference Preparation

The Katsina State Government has inaugurated a committee to organize the upcoming Northwest regional conference under the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), scheduled for November 15, 2024. The conference, set to take place in Katsina, will focus on improving the business environment in the region by engaging key stakeholders.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, who represented Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, emphasized the significance of the event. "On behalf of His Excellency, I am pleased to inaugurate this committee. The success of this conference is crucial for Katsina State and the entire Northwest region, as it will play a vital role in boosting business activities," Faskari said.

The committee, led by Ibrahim Tukur Jikamshi, Director General of the Katsina State Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA), consists of senior officials from various sectors, including economics, law, and media. The members include:

- Ibrahim Tukur Jikamshi, Chairman
- Khalil Nur Khalil, Economic Adviser to the Governor
- Dr. Ibrahim Ghani, KASEDA Representative
- Mansur Amin
- Norfal Ahmad, Director General, ICT
- Alhaji Shamsu Ahmad, Director General, Planning
- Nura Adamale
- Barrister Bashir Umar, Director General, Legal
- Abbas Sambo, Regional Planning Manager, Katsina Zone
- Isa Dauda, Planning Director
- Ahmad Abdulmumin, Chairman, MAN Katsina Branch
- Sani Rabi’u Jibia, Director of Personnel from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, who will serve as the committee's secretary.

Faskari outlined the committee’s tasks, which include organizing the conference, coordinating with PEBEC to ensure smooth execution, and finalizing the number of participants. 

"With the conference date approaching, I urge the committee to approach this task with dedication and commitment. The state government will provide all necessary support to ensure its success," Faskari concluded.

In response, the committee chairman, Ibrahim Tukur Jikamshi, expressed gratitude to the Katsina State Government for entrusting them with the responsibility. He assured that the committee would execute its mandate professionally and diligently.

"We are grateful for the trust placed in us. On behalf of the committee, I assure His Excellency and the people of Katsina State that we will carry out this task with expertise," Jikamshi said.

He confirmed that preparations had already begun, with plans to submit a detailed report and documentation to the state government next week. Jikamshi also thanked the PEBEC representatives from Abuja for their support and guidance.

The Northwest PEBEC conference is expected to provide a crucial platform for discussing ways to improve the business environment in the region, contributing to economic growth and attracting investment to Katsina State and other parts of Nigeria.

Both the state government and the committee reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the success of the event, recognizing its importance for the region's economic development.
